Well done, George. Make sure your statements are qualified: "But as there is no talking during our film it would be suitable for younger people to view it." Think about how you could adapt your thriller to account for audience enjoyment: "women may have the same interests in a thriller like men."
Knowing that the viewer prefers the genre (thriller) makes it easy to focus on specific characteristics of a thriller, keeping the interests levels up in the audience. I feel this has helped us in the production of our thriller as it has showed us the popularity of the genre.
Graph 2 (Would you take your kids to a thriller?)
We ask this question, as we felt that many parents or adults would take younger children to see thrillers, so this really helped us in our planning as this could show how much violence or gore to put in a thriller film. From the data in graph 2 I have learnt that the older generation do take children to see thrillers, but not all the time. This can be compared to our thriller, as our production does contain adult parts which would not be suitable to children. To make our thriller suitable to children we would have to cut out various happenings in it such as the smoking scene. But as there is no talking during our film it would be suitable for younger people to view it.
Graph 3 (Are you male or female?)
We thought this was a valid question to ask as generally action and violence is preferred by the male population and judging upon the pie chart shown, males have a larger interested in thrillers but the female section appears not to be to small, covering over nearly half of the pie chart showing that actually women may have the same interests in a thriller like men.
Graph 4 (How old are you?)
We felt as a group that this was an important question to ask due to the language or actions used in a thriller, as it may be inappropriate to the younger population, but as there is no talking throughout our film this would not come as an issue to us. But also the older generation may be affected by certain parts so by understanding what age groups what thrillers, we can get an under standing of there personalities. This can be seen from the pie chart as it shows the age group of 15-20 which would be expected as this age group is during the teenage years, where action explosions and gun fights thrill them.
